Pichitra Boonyarataphan

A distinguished heritage and upbringing molded Madame Pichitra Boonyarataphan into the expert craftswoman and designer she became. Born in Bangkok, Thailand, and heiress to the late Lamyong Boonyarataphan, founder of the renowned Rapee Institute of Fashion, Madame Pichitra continues to uphold her family’s legacy as pioneers of the Thai fashion industry.

At 16, Mademoiselle Pichitra departed her native Thailand for Switzerland and Paris, where her devotional love for art, fashion and design found its spark. She would  spend her life fanning its flame.

Upon graduating from Chambre Syndicale de la Couture, and modeling for some of the most renowned French design institutions, Mademoiselle Pichitra returned to Thailand in 1978.  She modeled for some of the most famed Thai artists of the time, all the while devoting her heart and soul to the elevation of her own savoir-faire.

In 1980 Madame Pichitra launched her first design line to a chorus of national praise and acclaim. Inspired by her heritage and informed by contemporary trends, her designs went on to appear in leading fashion shows across Europe – from France to Italy and to The Netherlands.  Before long, she was  dressing some of the most prominent women in Thailand and abroad, including the Thai Royal family.

Madame Pichitra had created her own legacy – and, to carry it forward, she has since gathered a new generation of designers, artists and craftswomen around her brand, over which she now presides as Creative Director.  Pichitra Boonyarataphan is synonymous with style.  By her timelessly crafted designs, unfolding through a constant reimagining of today’s fashions, the appeal of Ateliar Pichita only grows with the onset of every tomorrow.
